Street photographer and Ho Chi Minh City photography event organizer Luke Neville is doing something special for his birthday. Instead of soliciting presents, he’s offering a gift of his work to Saigon.

An exhibition of his 35-millimeter photography will be shown at Ô Creative Space (Level 2, Oliuu Creative Bistro), 56 Phạm Viết Chánh in Bình Thạnh District (New ward: Thạnh Mỹ Tây), from 20th to 30th September 2025.

The show is titled “Thirty Five” for both the film frame size and Neville’s number of orbits around the sun.

A culmination of a street photographer’s experience in Vietnam and beyond

The British photographer is presenting the photo collection as both a personal capstone his creative medium of choice as well as a statement about the special power photography has to capture the unique ephemera abundant throughout the city but gone as soon as it’s noticed.

“This exhibition is about looking closer at the diverse world and finding stories in fleeting moments,” Neville wrote in a press release announcing the show.

“After living in Ho Chi Minh City for a decade, my perspective has been shaped by the vibrant scenes of Asia and beyond. This body of work is a culmination of that experience—using the camera as a tool for curiosity and connection.”

Join Neville and others at The Southern Photo Club, an approachable platform for budding street photographers

Neville’s belief in the power of the lens has led him to take a leadership position organizing photo walks and events with The Southern Photo Club, a loose association of photographers that has drawn both hobbyists and professionals for tours he’s designed and led through Ho Chi Minh City.

Neville’s solo photo exhibition coincided with dinner time but was busy nonetheless when we visited on its inaugural saturday.

Additionally, Neville works through his photography agency Vietnam Visuals to offer commercial photography services, sales of prints and private photo tours.

Though he’s gotten a lot of his bona fides in Saigon, the exhibition includes images shot from around the world. “‘Thirty Five’ is a journey through fleeting moments and interesting streets, captured during my travels across Asia and beyond,” he wrote in an artist statement.

A conversation between photography enthusiasts.

“This collection is a deeply personal record, born from a decade of living in Ho Chi Minh City and using my camera as a tool for connection and discovery. My intention is not to necessarily document these places, but to explore the quiet, human stories that unfold within them. Each frame is a fragment of a larger, unwritten narrative—a candid gesture or a scene that invites more questions than it answers.”

Neville’s photo exhibition began aptly with a condensed photowalk in the neighborhood with attendees.

“Thirty Five” will be shown at Ô Creative Space from 20–30th September 2025 during the venue’s regular business hours (6–10 PM, Tuesday to Sunday).
